卜算子 to the tune of Song of Divination

咏梅 ODE TO THE PLUM BLOSSOM

驿外断桥边， By the broken bridge near the post in repose

寂寞开无主。 She,unseen and forlorn,blazingly blows.

已是黄昏独自愁， Saddened,she stands alone in the dusk's reign,

更着风和雨。 Exposed to more attacks form the wind and rain.

无意苦争春， With no intention to be the spring's pride,

一任群芳妒。 She ignores the envy from flowers by her side.

零落成泥碾作尘， When ground to dust and existing no more,

只有香如故。 She'll still smell as fragrant as before.

咏梅 ODE TO THE PLUM BLOSSOM

风雨送春归, Wind and rain escorted Spring to go,
飞雪迎春到。 Now spring returns welcomed by flying snow.

已是悬崖百丈冰, High on cliffs are icicles hundred-foot long,there,

犹有花枝俏。 A flower springs up so fair.

俏也不争春, So fair she is,yet,not so vain

只把春来报。 As to dominate Spring but to say it comes again.

待到山花烂漫时, One day when all flowers bloom in different styles,

她在丛中笑。 She stands amid them all and smiles.

咏梅 Ode to the plum blossom

疏枝映寒窗，Sparse branches shine outside the cold window of my room,

笑在百花前。ahead of all of other flowers they bloom.

奈何笑颜难为久，But the flowers' smiling faces can't be lasting,

春临反凋残。they fade while the spring's coming.

残固不堪残，As they fade,we don't like their fading,

何许自寻烦。and shouldn't be disturbing.

花落自有花开日，The fallen flowers will bloom on the future's day,

逐芳待来年。for the next year，their fragrance will arise again on the way.
